Solid Silver Topped Claret Jug
Beautiful Solid Silver Topped Claret Jug.

Tapering form with diamond cut crystal. Masked pouring spout. Dragon topped handle. Cherubs and un-engraved cartouches to either side of the collar.

Assayed London 1973 by makers Edward Barnard and Sons Ltd.

In beautiful condition, very crisp and clear hallmarks on all pieces. No dents or dings, no scratches.

Measures approx:

12" tall.

A lovely piece, very elegant styling.

William Henry Hunt - Still Life - Watercolour
Beautiful watercolour by the well known listed artist William Henry Hunt (1790 - 1864).

A highly influential painter of fruit & flowers, rustic genre & landscapes. Known as ‘Birdsnest Hunt’. Studied under J Varley, Dr Munro, and RA Schools. Exhibited mainly at the RA & RWS.

'This still life is of a foliate jug with peaches and a rose.

Signed although faintly to the bottom right.
Also to the back in pencil.

In excellent condition, colours are bright and unfaded. No foxing or damage.

Frame and mount gilded.

Painting only: 8 1/2" x 9 1/4". 22cm x 24cm.

Frame: 15 3/4" x 16 3/4". 40cm x 42cm.

Victorian Fall Front Three Bottle Carved Oak Tantalus
Beautifully carved, Victorian Oak Three Bottle Tantalus. Dating to around 1890.

The lockable fall front frame is carved with flowers and foliage and has a spreading base carved with lunettes. The handle, lock including backplate and mounts are EPNS silver plated. Comes with its key.

The base pads on which the decanters stand are original blue velvet.

The decanters have prismatic cut stoppers. There are the odd little nibble to the bases of the stoppers, common with use over time.

In excellent condition, minor wear to the plate and one screw is missing, no repairs.

No manufacturers label.

Measures approx:

14" tall x 14 wide x 5 1/4" deep.



A very good quality tantalus, rare to find in such fine condition. Very decorative and still very useful!

Stunning miniature set in the very popular 1128 Old Imari pattern.

Dating to 1998.

Consisting of a tray, tea pot, sugar bowl, milk jug and cup and saucer.

All pieces are marked to their bases. All are first quality apart from the milk jug, this is marked as a second.

Tortoiseshell & Silver Mounted Snuff Box c.1760
An 18th century oval shaped tortoiseshell and silver mounted snuff box. The lid inlaid with mother of pearl and probably gold, in the form of a basket of flowers and foliage.

Daes to around 1760. There are no hallmarks to be seen, but this is not unusual, they have pehaps been polished away over the years.

In excellent condition for its age with no loss of the tortoiseshell or inlay. The silver is worn in places, but is still very good. The hinge is in good working order.

Measures 8.5cm wide.

A lovely piece for the collector.

Rare Bloor Derby Heart Shaped Oval Dish with a deep cobalt and finely gilded border and central hand painted panel, c.1820.

This piece was painted by the Derby painter Richard Dodson, famous for his skill at painting birds.

The central panel contains three birds on tree branches with landscape to the background.

In fine condition, with no damage or restoration. A little gilt loss, but the central panel has no paint loss. Fine crazing as would be expected in a piece of this age.

Fully marked to the base with the crown within the outer Bloor Derby circle.

Measures approx: 10 1/4" x 8". 26cm x 20cm.

Entitled Matlock High Tor, Derbyshire.

This piece was painted by the Derby painter Daniel Lucas, famous for his skill at painting landscapes.

The central panel contains a view of the famous Derbyshire tourist attraction of High Tor in Matlock Bath, with the river Derwent running through the valley floor.

This piece is in wonderful condition, there is a fine hirline to the rim as seen in the photo but it has no restoration. No gilt loss, and the central panel has no paint loss. Fine crazing as would be expected in a piece of this age.

Fully marked to the base with the crown within the outer Bloor Derby circle, and Matlock High Tor, Derbyshire written in red.
