Antique Cold Painted Spelter Bust - Poet Dante - c.1900
Beautifully modelled, Victorian cold painted spelter bust of the very famous Italian poet Dante. Dating to around 1900.

On a square pedestal base marked DANTE.

Signed E le Guillemin to the left side of the bust, under the shoulder recess.

In good condition. There is general wear to the paintwork over the whole bust, particularly to prominent areas. This is commensurate with age though and adds the authenticity expected from a piece of this age.

Georgian Reverse Glass Painting of St Matthew c.1800
Stunningly beautiful, rare, late George III, hand painted reverse glass picture.

Dating to c.1800.

Depicting an image of St Matthew.

Inscription at the bottom:

St Matthew. Pub. Dec.13.1800. by I.Hinton, 44 top of Well Strt,, Oxford Strt,,

Amazing attention to detail, showing wonderful craftmanship.

In beautiful condition, the colours are crisp and strong.

Age commensurate yellow marking to the painting and some old marks as you see to the area around the sleeve and left edge of the picture. The frame is not original I think, and needs some attention or replacing as the glass has some room for movement.

Measures approx picture only:

7 1/2" x 9 1/2".

Frame:

10" x 12".

A truly stunning piece for any collector of religious works of art.

W T Copeland & Sons 6 Miniature Coffee Cans & Saucers
Beautiful, early W T Copeland & Sons porcelain miniature coffee set. Dating to c.1851 - 85. Probably earlier than later.

Contains 6 cups and 6 saucers all with the classic willow pattern printed on them.

I do wonder if these were produced as a childs play set rather than for practical use.

Marked as you see to the bases in dark blue with an early fractional number 1 over 1327 in orange.

Condition wise. These items I would say are doing very well for their age! The gilding is worn on all the pieces. There are couple of hairlines to the bottoms of two cups and to the rims of two saucers, one also has an edge chip. There is discolouration on to various pieces particularly the saucersand cup handles. All of this is age and use commensurate though.

Measures approx:

Cup: 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" in diam.

Saucer: 2 1/2" in diam.

Lovely, and rare set, of very good quality. Displays beautifully.
