Bloor Derby Pair Shell Shaped Dishes c.1820
Absolutely stunning. Antique, Bloor Derby shell shaped dishes, hand painted with sprays of flowers, dating to c.1820.

The centre sprays with roses, forget-me-nots and foliage. The sides are deep with a cobalt blue gilt scrolled borders. The handles are pierced.

These pieces would have been part of a dessert service, originally produced at the Nottingham Road factory in Derby which existed from 1750-1848.

The red printed gothic style mark to the pack of these pieces was only used from around 1820 - 48, when the factory closed. So the piece can be very clearly dated to this period in time.

The pieces are in wonderful condition.

No real wear to the gild worth mentioning. No cracks or repairs. A little discolouration as you can see from the photos, and very fine crazing very common to pieces of this time. But one cannot expect perfection at nearly 200 years of age!

This really is a wonderful set, as I have tried to show in the photos.

Measures approx:

9 1/2" wide.

A rare, and very special, collectors duo. A very sound investment for the future.

I can email more photos if required, please ask.
